Occupany Sensors in Wall- and Ceiling-Mount Configurations

Encelium Technologies introduces a new family of low-voltage occupancy sensors. This product line includes a full range of passive infrared (PIR) and dual technology (ultrasonic/PIR) low-voltage sensors available in both wall-mount and ceiling-mount configurations. The occupancy sensors are ideal for use with Encelium’s Energy Control System and also as stand-alone sensor applications for projects where ECS may not be suitable.

PIR and Ultrasonic line-voltage wall switches are also available as are 120-V, 277-V and 347-V power packs. Any of the new low-voltage sensors can be converted to line-voltage use with a Power Pack (PPK-020/PPK-347) or a unique Power Base Adaptor (PBA-015). All of the sensors are customized for use with ECS with optimized factory presets for sensitivity and default time-outs.

When the sensors are used within the ECS architecture, parameters including time-outs, support zones, integration with time schedules, sharing of occupancy data with building management systems and zone control, are all configured through Encelium’s Polaris 3D software, which is used to commission, configure and manage Encelium’s ECS. Polaris 3D provides a 360-deg, three-dimensional view of lighting energy use in a facility. With Polaris 3D, users do not need to navigate through single floors, or a “tree architecture,” to reach a specific control zone. Instead, they will get a 3D, colorized thermo-graphic view of system parameters to identify areas and trends of lighting inefficiencies throughout a building.

ECS typically meets and exceeds today’s sustainable requirements for new construction or retrofits of existing properties. It also contributes between 12 to 18 points, depending upon the application, toward achieving the U.S. Green Building Council LEED status.
