    Product Detailed Description

Energy-Efficient Daylighting & Electric Lighting Techniques was a recognized by the IES Progress Committee in 2008 for having made a significant contribution to the lighting industry. In this book, techniques from architecture, interior design, landscape, and lighting design are applied to daylighting and specifying energy-efficient electric lighting. Product references and Web-site tutorials are provided. How to pretest devices for sun control using clients’ latitude. Calculations are shown to determine how much energy is consumed when using specific light sources. Ways to convince clients to accept energy-efficient techniques and the benefit to them are explained. Partial contents include: Fluorescent sources that should be chosen to reduce mercury in our environment. How infrared incandescent sources produce more light and are sufficiently energy-efficient for use in some states. The importance of respecting the maximum wattage limits of light fixtures is emphasized. Further, codes affecting both commercial and residential lighting are included. Finally, lists of providers of fluorescent and LED sources are enumerated. All the information is aimed at reducing global warming and reaching Carbon Zero by 2030.
