Lighting often consumes 35% of the energy used by a building. With energy rates increasing, a lighting upgrade offers one of the most cost-effective and easy means to reduce operating costs. Increased lighting efficiency is often the only energy improvement that can be made to an existing building that offers a positive return on investment.

    Product Detailed Description
This document is intended for designers and specifiers as well as commercial and institutional building owners, managers, facility engineers, energy service companies, retrofitters, and utility representatives. It is organized into three main sections, each presenting more specific information than the last, and assembled as a series of briefs, each typically one to three pages. They include the upgrade briefs section-describing the generic issues involved with most lighting upgrade projects; the technology briefs section-discussing the various types of equipment typically used in a lighting upgrade; and application briefs section-describing four applications that represent typical lighting upgrade situations and the particular issues common to those situations.
