    Product Detailed Description

Johan Heinrich Lambert's celebrated "Photometria" is unique in the history of applied optics and what has come to be called Illumination Engineering. Written in 1760, it was the first systematic attempt to formulate, prove and demonstrate the processes and principles to be used in the quantification of light, its effects, and the photometric properties of materials. Though his interest had its roots in atmospheric and astronomic phenomena, Lambert's intent was a quantification of all maters dealing with light, including vision.
