Committee Purpose, Scope And Documents

Purpose

This Technical Committee researches and develops best practices for lighting that must absorb, recover from, and more successfully adapt to adverse events such as storms and earthquakes.

Scope

Included subject matter: The scope includes suitable materials, design techniques, and construction procedures for improving the standard of practice for lighting in anticipation of adverse events. Excluded subject matter: This committee does not cover the general maintenance of light sources and systems.

Nick Ferzacca, PE, LEED AP is a Principal at Architectural Engineering, Inc., a mechanical, electrical, plumbing/fire protection engineering firm located in Boston, MA. He has over 30 years of experience in electrical and lighting design for national and international projects covering a wide range of project for higher education, K-12, commercial offices, transit, state and municipal facilities. His IES experience includes various past roles including Section President, Chair of Sustainable Lighting committee and Vice Chair of ASHRAE/USGBC/IES Standard 189.1.
