Parsons Summer Intensive Lighting Design Studio is a week-long immersion experience that exposes students to the working process and application techniques for lighting design. Taking advantage of the expertise in the MFA Lighting Design program at Parsons, participants spend a full seven days in the studio environment working on a lighting design project sited in New York city. Students participate in hands-on exercises that examine the technical and poetic relationship that natural light and electric light have with architecture, while at the same time taking advantage of the vast design resources in the New York metropolitan area and new tools and techniques for lighting design. For professionals, the studio is an opportunity to refresh and re-tool with other practicing professionals in an academic studio environment.
University housing is also available (but not required) in suite-style dormitories from 6/9/18 through 6/19/18.
