Committee Purpose, Scope And Documents

Purpose

This Technical Committee researches and develops best practices for lighting to enhance the security of people and property.

Scope

Included subject matter: The scope includes visibility concerns in security applications, security lighting for controlled spaces, and the relationship between crime and lighting. Excluded subject matter: This committee does not cover the illumination of related public areas outside the project limitations.

Committee Chair - John F. Wall

John Wall As a senior lighting specialist for Evergreen Consulting Group, John supports trade allies in their work to propose and complete energy efficient commercial and industrial lighting projects. He works with electric utility program staff to promote incentive programs and increase completed lighting projects. John has extensive experience working on Industrial and Commercial lighting design-build and lighting renovation projects of all sizes. Prior to joining Evergreen Consulting Group, John worked as a lighting specialist for electrical distributors in southwestern Oregon and southeastern Idaho. He assisted contractors and facility maintenance managers and helped them plan and implement energy efficient lighting projects. Before joining the electrical industry, he was in the automotive business where he was an owner and general manager of numerous auto parts stores, machine shops, component rebuilding services, and wholesale parts distribution. He holds an OSHA-10 Industrial Safety Certification; and a Lighting Certified Professional designation from the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions (NCQLP). John spent more than two decades as a planning and zoning commissioner in his hometown of Pocatello, Idaho. As an alumnus of Idaho State University in Pocatello, John remains a dedicated supporter of the athletic programs, (Go Bengals!) traveling to athletic events across the region. He enjoys spending his free time on the Oregon coast, hunting for treasures on the beach with his family.
