Amardeep Dugar, IALD, FISLE, FSLL

Amardeep has been working in the field of architectural lighting design since 2002. After completing an M.A. in architectural lighting from the University of Wismar/Germany, he pursued a Ph.D. in architectural lighting from Victoria University of Wellington/New Zealand to solidify his academic and professional leadership role into a career at a higher level. As a trained architect and an advocate for all the elements of lighting – design, education, and research – he founded Lighting Research & Design in 2010, based on these elements. Since then, he has been applying this three-pronged approach of design, education, and research in advancing his career.

In the area of Professional Accomplishments/Design Projects/Career Highlights: In the area of lighting design, his notable projects include the Hyatt Place/Rameswaram, Courtyard by Marriott/Madurai, GD Car Museum/Coimbatore, and several other corporate offices and private residences which have all been featured in international publications like LD+A, arc magazine, etc. In the area of lighting education, he has been teaching at several architecture schools and presented lectures at several international conferences such as IALD Enlighten 2014, 2016 and 2019; IES Annual Conference 2012, 2015 and 2020; IES Research Symposium 2016; Light Fair 2014 and 2020; Light Focus 2004 and 2006; Light Middle East 2019; PLDC 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019. In the area of lighting research, he has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed international journals such as LEUKOS, Light & Engineering, Lighting Research & Technology, and Journal of Light & Visual Environment.
