integrating sphere

[] A hollow sphere whose internal surface is a diffuse reflector and is as spectrally non-selective as possible.

1) Two principle uses are: a) to geometrically sum the spatially total flux emitted by a radiator, and b) to eliminate the spatial and polarization inhomogenities of radiation at the input to optical instruments.

2) This sphere is sometimes known as an Ulbricht sphere.
