Hybrid: Creating an Ideal Surgical Workspace with Light

January 18, 2023 | 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EST

25 CAD – 75 CAD

We are looking forward to another year of IES Toronto Section Technical Luncheons! We will continue to meet in Riga Hall at the Latvian Cultural Centre on the third Wednesday of the month. Virtual attendance will be supported, but more than anything we are looking forward to seeing our section come together to share and celebrate lighting knowledge and advancement through in-person discussion.

PRESENTATION:
There is no more critical space where proper lighting directly impacts health and life than in a surgical suite. This criticality can be seen in the attention given to lighting specifications and recommended practices from multiple stakeholders. Bringing it all together is a difficult task. This course will identify issues and concerns and provide clear direction regarding fixture feature selection and use.

SPEAKER:
Timothy Stevens is serving as the director of product management with Certolux, a brand of Leviton Lighting Canada. Tim’s engineering career began at Underwriters Laboratories, specifically evaluating hundreds of manufacturers’ lighting and medical products. This has provided a foundation for three decades of engineering, product management, and development work with Juno, Fail Safe, Kurtzon and Kenall before joining Leviton Lighting Canada. Tim has developed cleanroom lighting for the James Webb Space Telescope assembly, Centaur rocket fueling center as well as numerous university medical and research laboratories. Tim has an extensive, hands-on background in lighting for medical, cleanroom, and technical industrial applications and is a member of IES and the IEST (Institute for Environmental Sciences and Technology).
