As LED technology continues to advance, the possibility to provide improved color quality performance and value to the application space has never been greater. This presentation will address aspects of color science and the basics of the human visual system. Included will be a review of the most widely adopted methods and metrics for describing all aspects of color quality and performance. Examples illustrating the current and future possibilities for accurately predicting color quality performance and value in the general illumination space will also be discussed, including the metrics incorporated in IESNA TM-30.

Learning Objective 1:
Become more familiar with the various and most widely used methods for describing color performance.

Learning Objective 2:
Review IESNA TM-30 and determine its potential to more accurately predict color quality/performance in the application space

Learning Objective 3:
Gain a basic understanding of light in nature and light from man-made sources.

Learning Objective 4:
Understand the challenges in accurately quantifying color quality.

Presenter: Eric Haugaard (Cree Lighting)

In an on-going effort to support our local community, we will be donating half of our profits from each meeting to the following efforts. As much as we value (and rely on) your support to the IES Milwaukee Chapter, we acknowledge that we have the opportunity and responsibility to support those who may need more help right now.

25% of profits will go to a local Milwaukee charitable donation. Our goal is to donate $1000 by the end of the 2021 calendar year.

25% of profits will go to our IES Scholarship fund to continue our local education support.

And one lucky attendee will receive a gift card as a Thank You from IES MKE!

We appreciate you all and your continued support of the IES Milwaukee Chapter. We look forward to ‘seeing’ you at our virtual meetings!

RSVP by Wednesday, November 18th at noon. If you have any questions or need to cancel your reservations, please contact Colleen Kroll at [email protected]
