Using Lighting Technology to Engage and Connect with Museum Visitors. As museums reimagine their position in the community, how they present collections or plan exhibits, and create more inclusive environments, there are many aspects to consider. Understanding the role and use of lighting in public and exhibition spaces is crucial in establishing a visual identity and how the latest lighting technology can be leveraged long-term. This technology development is also the opportunity to create inclusive environments for those not normally targeted as a new audience (someone with reduced/impaired vision) and a group at the top of the target list (younger audiences used to more dynamic experiences). But first one must understand the issues surrounding the eyes behavior and aging over time, how dynamic lighting can be done without being over the top, and the impact on facilities. Through it all, it is important to not lose sight on the most crucial component: the performance and quality of the exhibition lighting.
