Please join the Illuminating Engineering Society Boston and Rhode Island Section, and the Boston Society of Architects Project Management Round Table for a presentation by Nora Rizzo of Design for Freedom. Design for Freedom by Grace Farms is raising awareness about the pervasiveness of forced and child labor in the building material supply chain. Hear from Nora Rizzo, Ethical Materials Director at Grace Farms Foundation.  This presentation will explore the risks of this humanitarian crisis and highlight ways you can take action towards transparency. Learn about the tools and resources available to use in advocating for a more humane future.

Nora Rizzo LEED AP, WELL AP, LFA is Grace Farms Foundation’s first Ethical Materials Director, leading the recently launched Design for Freedom Initiative.  Design for Freedom aims to eradicate modern slavery within the built environment by addressing the systemic use of forced labor in the building materials supply chain.

Throughout her career, Nora has dedicated herself to creating impact and building collaboration through her sustainability, resiliency, and social equity work.  Before joining Grace Farms, Nora spent over a decade as Director of Sustainability for Fusco Corporation in New Haven, CT.

As one of the first Ambassadors in the world to be accredited by the International Living Future Institute, she founded the CT Living Future Collaborative.  Nora serves on the Board of Directors for mindful MATERIALS and as a Board Advisor for the CT Green Building Council.
