Contractor’s Meeting

Modern lighting controls systems are more complex than they used to be and specifying them is a growing challenge. There are many different components that make up a complete lighting control system and so being able to quickly identify and specify the basic components of a lighting control system is a skill that all lighting designers should have. This presentation proposes a new way of looking at lighting controls systems, through the lens of the 5 pillars of lighting controls. With this foundational knowledge, it is easier for a design team to provide a complete and functional lighting control system

Presenter: Webster Marsh is a lighting controls design specialist and has produced a number of papers and courses on the subject of lighting controls and from the perspective of a specifier. Starting in theatrical lighting design, he found a natural progression into architectural lighting design where he used his in-depth knowledge of DMX lighting controls. He has since expanded his knowledge to include all varieties of analogue, digital, and IP based protocols and controls. Webster currently works for HLB Lighting Design in Boston where he specifies lighting and controls for a variety of project types.

In an on-going effort to support our local community, we will be donating half of our profits from each meeting to the following efforts. As much as we value (and rely on) your support to the IES Milwaukee Chapter, we acknowledge that we have the opportunity and responsibility to support those who may need more help right now.

25% of profits will go to a local Milwaukee charitable donation. Our goal is to donate $1000 by the end of the 2021 calendar year.

25% of profits will go to our IES Scholarship fund to continue our local education support.

And one lucky attendee will receive a GRUB HUB gift card as an appreciation from us for your continued support!

We appreciate you all and your continued support of the IES Milwaukee Chapter. We look forward to ‘seeing’ you at our virtual meetings!
