Webinar: What is Healthy Lighting Today?

March 24, 2021 | 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm MDT

$10 – $20
IES Calgary Section

We will cover lighting strategies responsive to COVID-19 and other possible viruses, lighting for circadian benefit for daytime and shift work, and shift-workers families, lighting for psychological benefit (different from physiological/circadian lighting although many manufacturers are muddying the two), lighting metrics for glare mitigation, and how daylighting plays into all of these.

SPEAKER: Jill Klores, IALD, LC, FIES
JJill Kloresill Klores, is the founding partner of Essential Light Design Studio, an independent architectural lighting and daylighting consultancy in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. She received her undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado in Environmental Design and Illumination Engineering. She served as the Applications Manager at Ledalite in Vancouver, BC, and as the Lighting Specialist for the Power Smart Commercial Program at BC Hydro. In 1996 she helped to open the Vancouver office of Pacific Lightworks Canada, and was transferred in 1999 to the Dallas office. In 2005 she founded Essential Light Design Studio. She has been the lead designer for projects including healthcare and senior living, museum and entertainment venues, as well as civic, corporate and educational projects. Jill has won Illumination Awards of Merit on the local, regional and international levels, as well as the celebrated Craig Roeder Memorial Award for exceptional use of color in light, for the Parkland Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit where she used color and intensity of light to assist in entraining infant circadian rhythm in the year 2000, when this field of work was in its infancy. Essential Light is now 7 employees strong with offices in Dallas and New York City.

COSTS: Donations of $10/15/20 per registration which will be donated to the IES Calgary Section Scholarship Fund.
