About the IES Leadership Forum
The IES Leadership Forum is a full day program designed by the IES Leadership Forum Committee. The purpose of the workshop is to help leaders, at all levels of the Society, effectively work with volunteers. The committee focuses on topics to help the attendee become more effective when they return to their respective section/committee such as time management, team building, project management, communication, and leadership skills.

Registration
This year’s IES Leadership Forum is being offered on Thursday, August 8th, at the Omni Louisville Hotel in Louisville, KY from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. The forum occurs the day prior to the 2019 IES Annual Conference which — AC is Friday, Aug. 9 – Sat. Aug. 10th. Registration for the Leadership Forum can be selected — as a free line item — when you sign up for the Annual Conference. Registration for Leadership Forum does not automatically register you for the Illumination Awards Gala or the Annual Conference — they must be selected and paid for separately.

Who Can Attend?
The program is offered for FREE to all IES Members who wish to attend. Recommended attendees include new IES Section officers, new committee members, and committee chairs. However, you do not need to be a current Section officer or committee member to register for the program. In addition, the forum is also great for IES Members and volunteers who want a refresher on the Society or those who want to share their successes as an IES Member. Every year the forum offers new content and new presenters.

The Program
The Leadership Forum begins with a free breakfast from 8:00 am – 9:00 am with the IES Emerging Professionals. From 9:00 am – 3:00 pm the day is packed with a diverse selection of seminars – from building a new program to succession planning. A free lunch is also provided. The Leadership Forum Grant
To assist unsubsidized emerging leaders, the IES offers Leadership Forum Grants (up to $1000) to help offset the costs of attending the Leadership Forum. The application deadline for the grant is typically at the beginning of May and requires 1) a formal letter of request, 2) a letter of recommendation from a Section officer, and 3) an essay on why the applicant thinks he or she should be awarded the grant. The Leadership Forum Committee
