The theme for the 2021 IES Annual Conference is Brighter. Together.
Over the course of the last year, perseverance, persistence, and unity have all become key touchpoints throughout many aspects of our lives. This year’s conference theme not only speaks to those feelings and invokes a feeling of anticipation and hope for the year to come, but it also calls to mind the frenzy of research, development, and inspiration that has defined the last decade in lighting while acknowledging the growing importance of lighting as one of the many disciplines that combine to form the built environment.
This broad theme explores the relationship between light and the lighting community. The objective of this conference is to provide educational sessions and experiences relevant to the audience of lighting professionals, academics, and other design-related disciplines. This year’s theme is intended to spark the conversation about how light is used, how light affects the user, and how we affect and inspire each other. In addition to speaker presentations, the Conference program will also consist of technical papers and posters on a wide range of lighting-related topics.
The IES Annual Conference offers subject-matter experts a platform to present their ideas, research, and project experience to a premier community of lighting professionals. It brings together industry thought-leaders, provocateurs, authors, and other highly qualified professionals to share their unique perspectives and contributions in an ever-changing market.
Your participation will provide you with an opportunity to engage with professionals across multiple disciplines with varying degrees of experience. You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Share your knowledge with industry colleagues
- Network within the global lighting community
- Obtain immediate feedback and reactions to your work
We invite you to submit your presentation ideas, particularly drawing from the interpretations of the theme Brighter. Together., that deliver unique educational and relevant experiences for attendees. Formats can include interactive sessions, lectures, and roundtable discussions. While the traditional lecture-style presentation is a fine and trusted format, we encourage you to be creative in your approach and welcome submissions that use video, live demonstrations, audience interaction, and other techniques to create new experiences for conference attendees.
Sessions can investigate the role of lighting relative to:
- Application Case Studies
