Registration: 2021 IES Street & Area Lighting Virtual Conference
October 11-13, 2021
Notice to Attendees
Amid the escalating COVID-19 positivity rate and increased travel restrictions, the Illuminating Engineering Society’s Street and Area Lighting Conference Committee announce that the 2021 Street and Area Lighting Conference (SALC) will not take place in person, and instead will be hosted in a completely virtual format.
- The dates for 2021 SALC have not changed. The Conference will be hosted October 11-13, 2021.
- All-Conference components – general sessions, exhibition, and breakouts – will be virtual.
As always, the health and safety of the lighting community, including our members, staff, supporters, vendors, and volunteers, is our top priority. While this was a very difficult decision to make, it provides us with the opportunity to host a more inclusive event – enabling attendance by governmental or municipality employees and any others who are under travel restrictions, increasing our virtual exhibit hall space to allow greater participation, and providing unlimited access to interact with exhibitors throughout the duration of the event.
We’re looking forward to hosting attendees and exhibitors alike from the safety and comfort of your personal workspaces. We hope you find this year’s Street and Area Lighting Conference an insightful and valuable experience.

IES Vaccination Policy for In-Person SALC Attendance
The Illuminating Engineering Society takes the health and safety of its members, staff, and event attendees very seriously. After careful consideration, the IES Board of Directors has decided to allow in-person attendance at this year's SALC by fully-vaccinated individuals only, and to offer a virtual attendance option that is available to everyone.
If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact [email protected].
SALC is committed to the safety of its registrants and organizers. We continue to monitor federal and state guidance on face coverings, and intend to comply with applicable guidance at the time of the conference. Stay tuned to this website or the event announcements, we will do our best to provide prompt updates.
