Sports and Recreational Areas Lighting Committee


Committee Purpose, Scope and Documents

This Technical Committee researches and develops best practices for lighting interior and exterior sports and recreational areas.

Included subject matter: The scope includes specific visual needs of each individual sports including the needs of participants and spectators. It addresses various levels of competition, each specific to each sport’s level of play. Excluded subject matter: This committee does not cover the illumination of related public areas outside the project limitations.

Based on a solid technical foundation coupled with good business acumen, Lance was selected to lead an existing lighting software company at a young age. After 10 years and a solid balance sheet, he was instrumental in selling that company to Musco and continues to lead the development of lighting software tools while taking on division-level leadership roles within the team. Lance have many years of experience working on various committees within the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and has been a speaker at past conferences.
