Purpose

This Technical Committee researches and develops best practices for the efficient and effective use of lighting control systems.

Scope
Included subject matter: The scope includes lighting control systems and protocols. Excluded subject matter: This committee does not cover energy efficiency lighting programs.

Joe Bokelman
Profile Image
Joe Bokelman has engaged the lighting industry from multiple angles and roles for more than 25 years – from student of lighting to lighting designer, through sales rep, project manager and manufacturing leader. Over the last 8 years, Joe managed the controls-integration and technology paths for several major lighting brands. His roles involved managing the transition from traditional lamps and ballasts to modern LED sources, control electronics, and life safety systems. Joe also drove a major product introduction for advanced, networked lighting controls, with enterprise software and ‘beyond lighting’ cloud-based apps. A self-professed technogeek, Joe is always on the lookout for ingenious innovations and novel engineering. Joe and his family currently live in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.

Kyle J. Hemmi, CLEAResult’s Senior Energy Engineer over lighting projects and programs, brings more than 23 years of lighting and controls experience in supporting engineering consulting services to utility, commercial and industrial clients. Kyle has trained more than 15,000 professionals on a variety of lighting, lighting controls, and C&I automation topics. He serves as a technical advisor to the DesignLights Consortium’s (DLC)® Solid State Lighitng and Networked Lighting Controls (NLC) initiatives and is Co-chair of the Illuminating Engineering Society’s Lighting Controls Committee. He has been an active member of the IES since 2004, holding a variety or leadership positions fo rthe Austin Section
