June 16, 2016 – In early 2015, an initiative was launched—the “Systems Efficiency Initiative”—the Secretariat of which is the Alliance to Save Energy. A coalition of 40 organizations (industry, public sector and advocates) are involved (including the IES and IALD) and have published the first of two reports describing the benefits, activities, and needed research in implementing, and eventually codifying, a systems approach to overall building energy efficiency. The next phase has just started and should be completed by early 2017.
