Information & Instruction for LC Candidates
Considering Joining the IES LC Study Group

The IES LC Study Group is designed for those planning to take the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions (NCQLP) lighting certification exam. We will also open it up to those who wish to improve their lighting knowledge or gauge if they are adequately prepared to write the exam.

Critical information: Enrollment in the LC Study Group is not mandatory in order to take the NCQLP exam. Enrollment in the LC Study Group will NOT register you to take the NCQLP LC Exam, nor ensure a passing score. Registration to take the exam is separate please go to www.ncqlp.org to register. Please refer to the NCQLP links below for more information.

PREREQUISITES:

Please note this is a Study Group, not a course, and the participants are expected to have a solid lighting knowledge to participate. Acceptance to participate in the Study Group is restricted to those who score 72% and higher on the Open Book, 25 multiple choice question exam. You will have two attempts at the exam. For those who do not pass, we suggest you continue with your reading and studying and reapply in 2024. To take the LC Study Group Entrance Exam please visit: IES eLearning: LC Study Group Entrance Exam. You will need to create an elearning portal login (free) to take the IES LC Study Group Entrance exam (also free).
