David L. DiLaura, Fellow IES, taught illuminating engineering at the University of Colorado, Boulder, for more than 20 years. His development of mathematical procedures and lighting software programs— used universally by manufacturers and designers—laid the groundwork for lighting software used today. Prof. DiLaura is author of the book, A History of Light and Lighting, an IES Medal recipient and past editor of LEUKOS, the online journal of the IES.
