Emil Radkov holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Columbia University and a M.S. in Chemistry from the University of Sofia. He has over 20 years of experience in the lighting industry, having held a variety of technical and leadership positions at GE, Illumitex, Dow Corning, Soraa and VividGro.

Radkov has authored more than 40 patents on the subject of LED technology and has set industry records for performance and light quality. His key areas of expertise include extensive knowledge of LED phosphors and encapsulants, spectral design for general and specialty lighting applications, reliability and SSL standards. He has also made substantial technical contributions to IES standards such as TM-21, TM-28 and most recently, LM-91.
