Eric Gibson is the Director for Commercial Outdoor Products at Acuity Brands Lighting. Eric received his Bachelor of Science degree in Illumination Engineering at the University of Colorado and his Executive M.B.A. at Mercer University in Atlanta.

Eric has been in the lighting industry for 32 years and first started at Lithonia Lighting in 2000.

Eric developed the light pipe for 3M back in 1988 and then spent five years as an Application Engineer and five years managing the development of lighting calculation software before beginning his career with Lithonia Lighting in 2000.

During Eric’s tenure at Acuity Brands Lighting, he has held roles of Application Software Marketing Manager for Visual, Specification Sales Manager (SSM) for Peerless Lighting, and Director of Commercial Outdoor Products.

He has been a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society since 1988 with involvement in several different committees including the Model Lighting Ordinance. Eric is currently a member of the Environmental Outdoor Committee.
