About IES Sections
IES Members can be found all over the globe. Since the Society's humble beginnings in New York City in 1906, dedicated thought leaders and passionate innovators have formed local IES Sections all across North America—from Halifax to Hawaii and Mexico to Minneapolis—expanding the Society's reach.
With support from the IES headquarters, Sections function to bring together individuals from all spectrums of the global lighting community represented by the Society's diverse membership of engineers, architects, lighting designers, educators, students, distributors, utility personnel, scientists, manufacturers, and more. Sections deliver various programs, presentations, and events related to lighting that are educational, engaging, informative, and highlight current standards and trends in the industry. Participating at the Section level provides opportunity for networking, idea exchange, leadership opportunities, career development, community building, and social interaction.
