Calendar is subject to change as we have moved our fiscal year to January – December

 

July

  • New Officers and Board Managers (BOM) take office
  • Section Slate due to Sections Coordinator and District Chair

 

August

(EVENT: IES Annual Conference)

  • President to Schedule Section BOM Yearly Meeting and Nominate Chair Appointments
  • Program Chair works together with officers to plan program year – (8) Programs/Events
  • Section President and/or other officers to attend District Executive Council meeting (usually at Annual Conference)

 

September

  • Section President Report due September 15th to District Chair
  • Treasurer: Section Financial Report due in September – email report to IES Sections Coordinator, District Chair, and IES Director of Finance

 

October

(EVENT: IES Street and Area Lighting Conference)

 

December

 


 

February

  • Nomination Committee works on finding new candidates for new Officer/Board of Managers election ballot in April
  • Consider new officers, board members, and committee chairs

 

March

  • Leadership Forum Grant is announced

 

April

  • Section President Report due: April 15th to District Chair
  • Section Officer Elections – send ballot to choose officers / new leadership for the next program year

 

May

(EVENT: Lightfair – May in New York, NY)

  • Elections finalized, results entered on Section Slate, sent to Sections Coordinator & District Chair
  • Section President and/or other officer to attend District Executive Council meeting (usually at Lightfair)

 

June

  • Section Slate due to Sections Coordinator and District Chair

*Section Leadership is expected to attend District Executive Council (DEC) Meetings. Sections should budget for two DEC’s per Program Year. The District has some travel funds available upon request if Sections lack appropriate funds to support attendance. DEC’s may take place at any point throughout the year, and are planned by the District Chair.
