International WELL Building Institute Installs Quantum Dot Lighting

March 4, 2021

Nano-LitThe International WELL Building Institute (IWBI)’s global headquarters in New York City has installed Quantum Dot lighting capable of adjusting wavelength and color temperature throughout the day to support the body’s circadian rhythm. The technology combines SENSO Lighting fixtures with Nano-Lit light engines.

“Lighting plays an important role in keeping us energized and maintaining our internal clocks,” says IWBI CEO and Chairman Rick Fedrizzi. “We’re excited to now experience a circadian lighting solution within our own global HQ.”

Quantum Dots, which facilitate improved wavelength control and minimize blue light more than standard LED phosphors, have been used in biotechnology for screening for decades. In the past five years the technology has been used in the Samsung QLED displays.
