‘Auditing’ Light and Wellness

July 27, 2021

Circadian ClockOne lighting company hoping to leverage the burgeoning light and health market has announced a program to evaluate circadian conditions in a space and create “certified circadian auditors.” The BIOS Circadian Audit Program is designed to upgrade indoor lighting by focusing on color quality, circadian response, health and wellness, as well as energy efficiency. The program trains lighting professionals to become certified auditors as well as offering complimentary circadian audits for any indoor space.
The audit provides a one-hour assessment of existing spaces and provides recommendations for ways to upgrade existing lighting to maximize occupants’ health, productivity and well-being. Steiner Electric, Chicago, for one, has signed on to the initiative, with company director Richard Wyton stating, the audit program “will be featured at our Lighting Technology Center in Chicago and we will soon to be certified as a BIOS auditor.”
