When Dallas Market Center announced last year that the first ArchLIGHT Summit commercial lighting show would launch September 21-22, 2021, it could not have been predicted that this would be the industry’s first in-person event in nearly two years.

DMC is already host to Lightovation, a twice-yearly permanent marketplace of residential lighting vendors that draws the entire North American retail showroom channel to Dallas each January and June. ArchLIGHT Summit intended to address the underserved local and regional specification sector with an expo of commercial lighting solutions alongside a robust slate of CEUs.

The resulting event has proven to have broader appeal as other in-person opportunities for lighting designers and architects to see product and network with peers went virtual or were canceled entirely. Meanwhile, DMC continued to host safe and successful live events that have been 90 percent or better attendance compared to pre-pandemic levels.

ArchLIGHT Summit will kick off on Monday, September 20, with a welcome reception hosted by Women in Lighting + Design’s three new Texas chapters in Dallas, Houston and Austin. This will take place on the top floor of the Dallas World Trade Center, offering spectacular views of downtown Dallas.

The Expo will be open 10am-7pm on Tuesday, September 21, and 9am-3pm on Wednesday, September 22, on the first floor of the Dallas Trade Mart, allowing attendees the opportunity to meet and interact with numerous leading commercial lighting brands.  ArchLIGHT official exhibitors have quickly taken advantage of the first opportunity in two years to showcase their latest innovations and product developments. Official Agency Partners of ArchLIGHT Summit include Hossley Lighting & Power Solutions and NexGen Lighting Solutions representing a broad selection of manufacturers exhibiting.

Registration for the Expo is complimentary, and a flat fee of $50 allows access to a choice of more than 30 educational opportunities over the course of ArchLIGHT Summit’s two days. WILD will also host a networking breakfast with roundtables on Wednesday, September 22.

With guidance from an Advisory Board, ArchLIGHT Summit’s seminar offerings are different than what is found at other lighting trade events, addressing issues of diversity and inclusion, business and personal development, as well as the lighting application sessions that would be customary. Several sessions offer a dynamic, interactive component for hands-on learning.

Another interactive opportunity for the entire lighting, design, architectural and specification community is Design DNA, an offshoot of Light Collective’s International Lighting Design Family Tree that allows users to see their unique professional stats within the context of all participants. Powered by The Lighting Exchange, this groundbreaking project will also have a physical manifestation at the ArchLIGHT Summit in the form of an innovative lighting installation brought to life by LIGEO US.

On opening night, all attendees will have the opportunity explore participating permanent showrooms on the third and fourth floors of the Trade Mart during a DNA Discovery Event, 7pm-10pm on Tuesday, September 21. Inspiring showrooms from brands like Accord Lighting, Acuity Brands, American Lighting, Eurofase, Hinkley Hubbardton Forge, Hudson Valley Lighting Group, Modern Forms, Progress Lighting and WAC Lighting will welcome guests as they enjoy food, drink and entertainment throughout the floors that historically encompass Lightovation each year.
