As the IES looks to inspire growth in the lighting industry and become a more inclusive Society, we must consider our membership structure from a global perspective. It has become increasingly evident that the current price of our subscriptions is not attainable for some individuals outside of North America, and reduced pricing on certain items is necessary to address the needs of lighting professionals living and working in Emerging Countries as defined by the World Bank (specifically for those categorized as Low-income, Lower-middle-income, and Upper-middle-income economies).

With an inclusive, growth-oriented mindset, the IES Board of Directors is pleased to have collaborated with the Society’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Respect (DEIR) committee to establish a reduced pricing program for international individual members based in Emerging Countries (view the complete list below), effective October 1, 2023.

It is our objective that the introduction of these reduced dues rates will make IES membership more accessible for international professionals and will allow us to be a more inclusive, global society dedicated to improving life through quality of light around the world.
