Nuckolls Fund Provides $130,000 in Grants

The Nuckolls Fund for Lighting Education has welcomed five new board members and voted to distribute three $30,000 grants to three institutions; one $20,000 scholarship; and four $5,000 achievement awards to individual students—bringing the total amount to $130,000 of funding for 2024. The new board members include industry professionals Edward Bartholomew, Mary Beth Gotti, Rebecca Hadley-Catter, Randy Reid and Barbara Weinrich. Grants and recipients are as follows:

  • Lesley Wheel Grant, $30,000: introductory lighting program, Colorado State University
  • Nuckolls Fund Grant, $30,000: enhancement of lighting curriculum, Columbia College, Chicago
  • Nuckolls Fund Grant, $30,000: enhancement of lighting curriculum, University of Arkansas, Fayetteville
  • Edison Price Fellowship, $20,000: Alana Pulay, assistant professor, Washington State University
  • DLFNY Student Achievement Award, $5,000: Aditi Dhingra, Parsons School of Design at The New School
  • DLFNY Student Achievement Award, $5,000: Sandra Ling, Pennsylvania State University
  • Jonas Bellovin Student Achievement Award, $5,000: Kelsi Weilage, University of Nebraska
  • Jules Horton International Student Achievement Award, $5,000: Abraham Shikara Silva, The Lighting Research Center, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
