Purchasing the Lighting Library

Purchasing the Lighting Library

The Lighting Library® is the full set of IES standards, divided into five Collections, with features that allow you to annotate, bookmark, find references and utilize the exclusive Interactive Illuminance Selector tool developed by the IES. The best value and most convenient way to acquire the Lighting Library is to subscribe to the full library as an IES member or through our Sustaining Member program. This depends on whether you want to subscribe as an individual, or through your company/organization to allow for multiple user access to the library platform.

Subscribe as an individual

As an individual, we strongly encourage you to become an IES member and purchase the full library. This is by far the best value and the most convenient for you to use. For instance, if you are using this as a lighting designer or engineer, while your main interest might be in the Lighting Applications Collection, all of these standards refer to the Lighting Science and Lighting Practice documents, which you will have access to through the full library subscription.

Subscribe for Multiple Users (Sustaining Membership)

If you are looking to have access to the Lighting Library for multiple users from your company or organization, consider Sustaining Membership, which comes with access to the full library for a predetermined number of simultaneous logins. The benefits for you organization include:

Each Sustaining Member needs to assign a designated contact for the account, and that person can give the sustaining member username and password to anyone within the organization they choose. There are no limits to the number of people that can access the account, however, the limitation is on how many people can access it at the same time; once the maximum number of simultaneous logins is reached, the next individual would not be able to login.
Sustaining Membership has additional value to your organization. Click here to see how the various levels of Sustaining Membership provide these benefits, including allocations for free webinars and discounts for individual memberships, IES events, educational content, and promotional benefits. These five packages are designed to accommodate many different sizes of companies, from small to large.  If additional simultaneous logins are required, the IES offers other alternatives as well. Please contact us at membership@ies.org for more details.
