New York — Lighting Design + Application (LD+A), the leading publication in lighting design and application published by the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES), will bid farewell to its long-standing Editor and Publisher, Paul Tarricone, as he embarks on a well-deserved retirement beginning October 1.
Under Tarricone’s visionary leadership, LD+A emerged as a premier source of industry insights and expert analysis for lighting professionals. During his decades-long tenure, Tarricone ensured LD+A consistently delivered high-quality content that resonated with readers worldwide. Through his guidance, the magazine provided a platform for thought leaders, researchers, and practitioners to share their expertise and shape the future of lighting design.
It is no surprise that Tarricone’s list of accomplishments is quite long. In addition to publishing the Society’s Centennial issue in 2006, other strategic initiatives include the launch of the companion LD+A e-report newsletter in 2011, several redesigns of LD+A (the most recent in 2019), publication of the LD+A 50th Anniversary issue in 2021, and instituting an annual international issue with the first one published in 2021.
Reflecting on his retirement, Tarricone expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support he received throughout his career: “It has been an incredible privilege to serve as the Editor and Publisher of LD+A for the past 20 years. I am immensely proud of the impact we have made in advancing the field of lighting design and application. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our contributors, readers, and the entire LD+A team for their support and collaboration. It is their collective efforts that have made LD+A the publication it is today.”
As Tarricone enters this new chapter of his life, the IES acknowledges his remarkable contributions and wishes him a fulfilling and joyous retirement. His dedication, expertise, and commitment to the industry will leave an indelible mark on the field of lighting design for years to come.
LD+A will continue to uphold its esteemed reputation under new leadership. The search for Tarricone’s successor is currently underway, and the magazine remains committed to delivering exceptional content that informs, inspires, and transforms the lighting design and application industry.
