Making Sequences of Operation Easy as Cake!

February 22, 2023 | 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm PST

The IES  Las Vegas & Santa Barbara Sections have put together an interesting event on the new LP-16 documentation and how to apply it. They have opened it up to all the Members of the IES. So, I am sharing it with you because the information is extremely timely and needed. Please register and attend if you feel like I do about this subject.

ANSI/IES LP-16 was the 2022 breakout standard that started the lighting controls sequence of operation revolution. For many, the phrase “sequence of operation” conjures visions of an insurmountable task – like a novice baker making a wedding cake. Rick Miller and Lyn Gomes, chair and co-chair of the committee, will chart a path through the sequence-creation wilderness and throw in a few baking analogies to facilitate laughs and learning. They will go through the process and break it down into bite size, easily achievable cupcakes, … erm steps. They’ll discuss sequence development, parties involved, how to determine setpoints, what to put on the drawings, and what to sprinkle on top! This 1-hour presentation can’t possibly take the place of the standard, but it will set you on your path to success.
